Bees!

Aaron picked up our bees on Saturday. He felt like placing them in the hive was anti-climatic :). Keeping our fingers crossed all goes well and we get some good honey this fall!

Easter 2014

We had a beautiful calm Easter this year.  The kids loved the ward Easter egg hunt, Reagan had to go as super girl.  It apparently was going to help her get more eggs.  I had fun making Reagan's Easter dress and the boys ties this year.  I think I'll do it again next year too!
I especially love Easter for the opportunity we have to think about all that our Savior had done for us.  Because of his atonement and resurrection we will be with Janin again and I am so very grateful for that.

Aunt Carly had an Easter Egg hunt for all the kids - Scott took these cool pictures of the boys.

Field Trip to the Fire Station

We got to take Reagan's preschool class on a field trip to Aaron's fire station.  It was a huge hit.  He was so good to show them all the trucks and how the ambulance works.  She was so proud of her daddy!

Best Sunday Conversation Ever

The home-teachers came over tonight or as Reagan likes to call it "parent-teacher conference." After the soon-to-be missionary gave us the lesson on serving others his partner asks Reagan if she likes to serve people. She responds by shaking her head no adamantly. He asks again using the word help, she again shook her head in complete defiance "nope."
After they left we had this conversation at the dinner table:
Mom: Reagan you would want to help people wouldn't you?
RJ: nope, I don't ( giving the thumbs down sign.)
Ash: yes you do, or your going to...
Colten: the dark side.
Ash: yeah the dark side of the moon.
RJ: I don't care, I just want to play. I'm staying a little girl.
Ash: Well when the homie teachers were here, I learned that if I'm motorcycling on a trail marked 'do not ride' and I see a cop, I need to give them a chase.
(Thanks to aaron for sharing his personal experiences, its always so enlightening.)

Stereotypes

One more way in which we defy the husband/wife stereotype.

Chickens

Aaron has wanted chickens since we bought our house in West Point - I finally gave in now that the kids are old enough to take care of them.  They are in love.

School Performance

Ashton had a performance tonight where he sang "this land is your land" and a song in spanish!  He was super excited because he got to stand next to the girl he's had a crush on since kindergarten, she's the one on the left.

They say

Me: Colten do you write your name CJ now? Do people call you that?
Colten: No, they call me Lightening but I don't know how to spell it so I wrote CJ.

Tree House Field Trip

I got to go with Colt's class on their field trip to the Tree House museum.  It was so fun to see him with his friends.  He was Prince Charming in the little participlay they did, he giggled the whole time.

DS, iPhone, iPad

They proceeded to play a video game, watch a movie with a lot of 'disgusting kissing', and go back to texting. This happened the whole way there and the whole way back. We were very entertained!
