Human Foosball

Aaron's family has this game of human foosball (like the little soccar table but with real people) that they brought to the family party. It was so wild, this giant ball flying all over the gym, Aaron's mom even lost her pants at one point! It was the most fun family party we've ever had.

Climbing

Colten is trying to stand up on things but he doesn't quite get that he needs something up high... it's so cute to see him stretch his legs bent over in half! He does this on plastic baskets Ashton has in his room and ends up on his belly like a whale on top.

Baby

The doctor said that she was pretty sure it's a girl ...we'll confirm for sure in Feb. when we have our main ultrasound. Aaron said he'll wait and see because they've been wrong before... Ashton acted like I was dumb -after all he had already told me it was a girl! I'm not really sure what to do with a girl so this will be another adventure! After all this whole pregnancy has been an experience to expand my comfort zone, why should this be any different?!

Besides that she is growing on time and everything looked normal, which is most important.

Nocky Head

Colten got his helmet today and he's been pretty good with it so far. He's touched it a few times but other than that he's ignored it. He has to wear it 23 hours a day for 3 months. Poor kid! I guess Ashton's nick name for him fits now (although I still don't know what a 'nocky' is).

In other milestones: he's army crawling everywhere and can't stand not to be moving. He's also making a lot of sounds like dadada and mamama. He loves to "sing" along with music and dance to the beat. It's been fun to watch him grow and try to keep up with his big brother.

Swim Lessons

Ashton started swim lessons today - he was a little timid but I think he'll warm up to it the more we go. His teacher Morgan had them ducking their head under water, climbing along the wall, kicking their feet and scooping "ice cream" with their hands.

Kids Say The Darnedest Things

Ashton was getting ready to go to the monster trucks when he came out with a very full backpack... "I got rocks and mountains and lots of stuff," apparently he was ready to go.

I was picking him up from Aaron when he gets in the car, "mom i can't tell you what's in my pocket, it's a secret" giggle...
Mom: "Just tell me"
Ash: " No it's a prize (suprise) - can we go to Artic Circle for lunch?"
Mom: "No let's go home for lunch"
Ash: "but I'll pay" giggle, giggle as he pulls $10 out of his pocket. He was very excited to take us out to lunch, thanks to dad.

He was having a hard time getting his boots on so I was telling him how to do it - "I got it under control mom!" A few seconds later "Mom? What does that mean?" I couldn't believe he knew how to use the saying and he didn't understand it's meaning!

"I couldn't put it on until I got all the germs off me." I just want to thank whoever told my slightly OCD son about germs! He does take after his father in that respect - and he can't have any more baths because of his skin!!!!

"Gram I'm not going to the bathroom here (E center) or at the fair anymore!" He's already picked up on nasty public restrooms!

Food Storage Helps

I've been involved in food storage/emergancy prep for 3 years now at church - I'm still no expert so I try to find helpful info elsewhere. I came across these 3 websites which have just rolled into one network -and it's awesome! Fun With Food Storage has combined Everyday Food Storage (the plan it), The Obsessive Shopper (the buy it) and Everyday Food Storage (the eat/use it) into one network so you can easily access each of their sites. They will have plans this year on how you can get your entire food storage/emergancy prep with in the year while doing it on a budget! I'm super excited to get ours a little further along.

Monster Trucks

My parents took Ashton and our family friend Chris to see the motor cross and monster trucks yesterday. He loved the triceratops and told me over and over that it was a girl driver and Sarah is the name of the triceratops like me. He had a ton of fun - thanks mom and dad.
