Colten Say's

Colten comes out of his bedroom after he was supposed to go to sleep an  hour ago and says he can't because the monsters will get into his bed - I know this is a ploy to stay up later.  So, I go get the 'magic monster spray' or Fabreze as it's more commonly known and show it to him.  His face lights up with total glee and takes me into his room -  "over there," he points to the toy box; "over there," then to  the closet, "over there," under the bed.  He's giggling at this point.  I tell him he's got it all and he can now get in bed and go to sleep.  My cute boy.

The end of an era. I love that Harry Potter brought books into so many homes and i look forward to the day when my children will enjoy them.

Dear Husband,

Thank you so much for freshening up the paint in the living room, however next time will you please remember to remove the paint cans when you are finished? Even if you have sealed them properly, when left with a screwdriver, your barely 3 year old, mechanically minded son will know how to open them. He understands the concept of a lever.  With the encouragement of his artistic, barely 2 year old sister, they will bathe in the paint, have a splash war and then traipse it all over my linoleum. My day of rest will then turn into a day of scrubbing paint off of the children (including our daughter's beautiful curly hair), piano, pictures, walls, floor, windows, curtains, tub and shower curtains. I love you, be very glad you are on duty today.

Play kitchen

We're building Reagan a play kitchen and so for her birthday she received things to use with it.  The kids have had so much fun playing pretend:





I can't wait till the actual kitchen is finished...I'm more excited then the kids!

Fourth of July

 We had a busy day. My niece Maddy spent the night so we started off with doing 4th inspired manicures...which I didn't take a picture of, ugh. Then we went to lunch at Noodles, the manager gave the kids a free rice krispie treat. Then over to our city's party at the park.


 Maddy entered into a disgusting eating contest to try to win a Nintendo psd. She had to eat a boiled ducks egg, that had been boiled in salt water and had a runny center - sick!





After a few trips to the bouncy houses we packed up and headed to Grandma Mary's for a bbq and s'mores. It was fun to meet the new in-laws and see baby Caspian Jack.

Another Face Fight

Colten had his first bloody nose last night. He fell and smashed his face into the toy box. It was pretty bloody before we got him all cleaned up, poor boy.

New Pictures

It's been a year and a half since I've had professional pictures taken of my kids.  It's a chore to have done and frankly they usually turn out just ok.  Some day I want to pay to have amazing pictures taken by an amazing independent photographer but until then I decided to try to do them myself.  I still have a lot to learn but here's what we did today:
