RJ's Toes

I mentioned how cute it is that Reagan loves to move her feet in circles constantly.  I thought I'd put up a video for you to see, she also "talks" in it!

Ash says

"I had a good dream last night about loving you, Rudy loving you, that's bigger than our space! It's almost valentines you know?"

Edit: Rudy is the "biggest dinosaur in the world" from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

I feel so much better

What we've been up to...

A recent trip to Cabela's.

ASHTON had his first valentines party at school, he just wanted to eat all the candy that was given to him. He also had a field trip to the dentist and is obsessed with flossing now.

His best friend just moved away (he lived across the street) and it's been hard for him to accept. He keeps saying that "he didn't move mom, he just went on vacation." We're going to see their new house this week so I think that will help.

He's enjoying our "fun Fridays." We've been doing some kind of activity each Friday, and on our way home he immediately begins planning the next one!

REAGAN is growing up so fast. She turns 8 months this week - I can't believe it. She loves baby food but is still having a hard time with the finger snacks. It takes a lot of concentration to get those things in her mouth!

COLTEN is a wild man. He just had a check up and weighs in at the 20th percentile and is only in the 14th percentile for height. He's our shorty for sure. He drags his rocking horse to the doors so he can stand on it to open them. He also figured out how to break of the saftey knob covers, so nothing stops him! The other night I woke up to hear something scraping on the kitchen floor - Aaron went to check it out, low and behold Colten had dragged the horse to Reagan's door, snuck in and stole her bottle, shut the door and was in the process of trying to open ours. What a pill.

Colten is our monkey, we came into his room after hearing him squeal... Aaron was helping him down in this pic.

Train Station

We thought this would be a ton of fun for the kids, and it was pretty cool to see all the running model trains. It was a little downer though that all old people running the show kept getting after the kids!

Spoon Guitar

Ashton loves to play guitar with my serving spoons - Colten being his little copy cat has picked it up as well! He really gets into it, closing his eyes as tight as he can - causing him to lose balance on occasion.

In the Paper

The Standard Examiner

The firemen, Captain Shawn Netz, Theron Wiliams, Justin Archibald, Kent Stanford, Cory Townsend and Aaron Jackman, have been working on their entry for about a month.

"It's a ladder truck, so it's got an 8-foot ladder, and it extends another 8 feet beyond that," said Jackman. "Now we're wiring it for lights and sirens."

Building the firetruck turned out to be a team-building activity.

"It's actually been great for the crew," said Jackman. "We've had a lot of fun."

Eternal Family

(My dad is on the bottom right - his parents and siblings)

I have quite the family tree. At one point in my life I had 16 grandparents, yes I said 16. See, I had all my grandparents and great-grandparents living. That still doesn't add up? Well it helps to know that all of my grandparents were divorced and remarried before I was born. So not only did I have 8 grandparents but that meant I also had step great-grandparents too. I have two step grandparents (Gramps and grandma Barb) that have been a huge part of my life. To me there has never been a difference between them and my biological grandparents, I don't even like to use the word "step" and only do to clarify to strangers because it feels like a misrepresentation of who they are to me.

With all this said, this last week a miracle has occurred in my family. My dad's parents (biological) have decided to get REMARRIED! Not only remarried but sealed in the temple along with my dad and his siblings. We will now be an eternal family, forever connected. I am so excited. I will admit it's still a little crazy to try and imagine how this will be, they have been divorced for something like 33 years. My grandma will now be a Reid (again), although I've only known her as Johnson - it's going to be hard to get used to that change - she might have to be grandma Kathleen for a while (ha, ha). As soon as all the details can be worked out it looks like I will be going to Seattle to celebrate more than a wedding but an eternal family!

People always think I'm exaggerating when I talk about how much laundry I always have to do. Even before kids we had an astronomical amount of laundry. Piles and piles - loads and loads. My own mother didn't believe me until she came to help out right before we had Ashton - at which point she realized that I wasn't exaggerating at all. The pile is never-ending, The boys' takes two loads, Reagan has two loads and Aaron and I have three, towels another one, and then bedding: I do this twice a week! I guess it's a good thing we don't have a fireplace!

What have you done to my wife?

My friend emailed this to me - and I thought it was funny.
