A New Generation

"Sting, Sting, Strike like a Bee!" Ashton made up this cheer for his wrestling club.

Our boys just joined the Stingers wrestling club at Box Elder high school. We're really excited! Aaron is loving going to help - especially the really big boys! He had fun literally throwing them around at today's practice. It made him feel "awesome" :).  I just have fun watching all my boys.

Colten is less thrilled. He's still so little. There is one other boy his age and they wrestle for a minute and then mess around for a bit, then try it again.

 We were a little nervous about Ashton liking it but he loves it. There are a lot more boys from our neighborhood on the team than we knew about and Ashton loves it.

This video doesn't do it justice but Harley was actually dribbling and trying to keep the ball from Ash, it was pretty cool to watch.

Aye, Aye Captain

We are so proud of Aaron. After ranking No. 1 on his captains test he was promoted to Captain and then a few weeks later to Medical Captain at OFD. He is in charge of all the medical associated stuff for his shift, paramedics, emts etc. He got a shiney gold badge and name plate too!  The guys celebrated by purchasing this lovely cake for him.

"RJ was a fat army guy and I was a fat superman it was Herr-larios!" Colten

It takes 3 headbands to keep the wild curls out of her face - apparently.

Why we love ice fishing so much.

 

Ashton has proved to be a great archer so far. He hits bullseyes every time.

They Say...

This is over the last few months.

One day Aaron told RJ that if she didn't clean her room by bed time he was taking all her toys away.  The next morning RJ woke up to the same messy room.  "Where's dad? Phew he didn't take all my toys!"

Colten "Whoa, whoa, whoa!  I really am sick cause I'm pooping out yucky poo!"

We only have a TV in our basement, on purpose.  The kids are only allowed to eat in the kitchen.  One day during snack time  RJ exclaims "Let's put a TV up there (pointing to the mantle), it would be sooo fun!"

RJ: I'm not going to be your best brother again!
Colty: Holy moly, you're a sister! (giggle, giggle)

At the most random time Colten says "Mom, I LOVE going ice fishing!"

Ashton "I'm thank youing you."

Ash: We need a chimney for Christmas.
Me, thinking this was going to be about Santa: Why do we need a chimney?
Ash very matter of factly: To be warm and have light.

Colten was talking to me one day and the conversation ended with "Remember mom you're so smart!"

RJ "Cause I'm a knower and I know."

Ashton told a boy at school that his parents were rich because we're bank robbers.  The boys mom told me that the boy came home very excited to tell her about Ashton's parents.

Colten and Reagan were arguing in the back seat.  Ashton was sitting in the middle of them.  Ever the peace maker he says "ladies, ladies you're both beautiful."

RJ "Harley wants help going outside, but I can't help her cause I'm not a brother."

Colten: Dad, will you check my room for spiders? Cause I' afraid of the dark.
Aaron: You're room is too dirty to check for spiders.
Colten: Then let's clean it all up and check for spiders.

In the back of the car Colten says "Mom, Dad?"  pause... "You're pretty princesses!"  ha ha ah

We had a sleepover with Maxx.  On the way to our house Max says "Sarah, your kids are so cool!"  10 minutes later... "Sarah! Ashton, Colten and Reagan are giving me a headache from talking so much.  But, don't worry I'll take care of it by plugging my ears."

Ashton Speaks Spanish

This is two recordings of Ashton speaking spanish with his teacher. He is in a spanish immersion program and all of the subjects they study in the afternoon are in spanish. Art, music, library and science. Here he is discussing the south pole and things that are living/non-living as well as animals vs. plants.
