Christmas Morning

We were really looking forward to this Christmas.  Aaron bought the boys a dirt bike that looks exactly like his and he's been hiding it for over a month.  Our boys are both obsessed with motorcycles and Ashton has been saving his money to buy one.  He was able to (unknowingly) provide a very good chunk of change toward this Christmas present.  Don't worry when you watch this video we do have a helmet for them and they rode the rest of the day wearing it! I want to get more videos from my SIL who taped them out at Dad's.  They both got really good at driving it.  We were really shocked at how well Colten can handle it all by himself, when his feet don't even come close to reaching the pegs!  Luckily the governor can be easily adjusted so we can control how fast they can go on it - and Ashton finally figured out the breaks!

I'm Like Jesus - Ashton Says

"Now i look like Jesus cause of this red thing. He had a hole in His foot and this one looks like it." It is much brighter red in real life - I guess it could look like a hole...

As we were driving home from Aaron's dad's on Christmas a cop went speeding by lights and sirens.
Ashton: Dad are you partners with one of those police guys?
Aaron: I help the police sometimes.
Ashton: Dad are you friends with police - Like Zach?
(Zach is on SWAT with Aaron and a neighbor of ours).
Aaron: Yeah.
Ashton: This is all wrong - a fireman friends with the police.
(said in a disgusted tone).

Ashton and Aaron were talking about tricks to do on the motorbike, when I made ugh noises.
Ashton: What Mom?
Aaron: Mom just wants you to be safe, so we have to be careful on the bike.
Ashton: If you want me to be safe then you'll have to buy knee gaurds for me...
Only he can be so quick to get something he wants into a conversation!

Christmas Eve

Waiting for Papa to come in.

She has worn these "pretties" ever since, with out taking them off except to sleep and only because her mama makes her!

Minute to Win It oreo game, thanks to Aunt Carly for bringing the entertainment!

 Hudster enjoying the game.
Tissue game... Look at Reagan's face!

Traditional jammies... Uncle Scott even got a matching pair to Hudson's.

Christmas Outfits

Fake smiles for mom.
The Irish Twins at it again!  Too cute.

She most definitely thinks she's the princess of them all!  Telling the boys to get back in place as she knocks 'em over their heads!

Reagan Says

"I sit dow" - down
"rr mil?" - your milk?
"hewo" - hello
"Asht" and "O-ton"
"baby"
"NO!" most of the time and occasionally "yep"
"Show" for tv, when she's advocating for her brother
"Shoes"
Everything is "pretty" her hair, her clothes, jewelery.
"sorr" - sorry
"Eat"

Colten Says

He says "right" after everything I tell him.

Everything is also "huge-er"

Whenever I tell Colten to put on his coat I hear: "I not cold!"
I called Colten baby boy - affectionately - he responded: "I not baby, Reagan the baby"
We were watching a movie that scared him but instead of I'm scared we got: "I scary"

Aaron got a lecture "Dad you not wear seat belt!"

I was telling Ashton to put his coat on - he said he's Scooby Doo and he doesn't need one, I told him Scooby Doo has a fur coat. Colten did not like this and started to scream "Scooby Doo not wear coat!"

Ashton Says

Ashton:
"why can't I go to papa's effection party?" Instead of election. It was going to be way too late for them but Ash can't let anything go with out an argument:
"I'm saying this for Colten and Reagan too, we really want to go to the big party"

"Look at that house. oh, It doesn't have an upstairs or a downstairs." Because no house is of worth unless it has an upstairs and downstairs.

"Why are you doing this dad? You're taking away my play time at home!"

"I don't like it called babysitting - I like big boy sitting, cause I'm huge!"

Obsessed

Many of you know I love heirlooms and all things vintage/retro. I've done a few posts on the children's clothing I've inherited. I also have a couple quilts from Aaron's grandma, not to mention our camp trailer and wall of black and white family pictures we have. Well, I've recently become obsessed with clothing for me:
This is a coat I got from DI - I'm not sure of the year, probably 80s does 40s but I love the lines and maroon details.
This is a dress I bought from ebay - very nautical 50s for this summer, with a little bolero or something. I have a cute red and white polka dot dress too.
I tried to look for a Christmas dress but couldn't afford anything so I made a plaid taffeta circle skirt and wore my back seamed nylons with it...Aaron's glad he was working that Sunday!
These are my favorite purchase! Real naval pants...they even have the sailor's name tag they belonged to inside. I saw sailor pants in Dior's fall and spring lines - and although I never pay attention to high fashion the idea caught my attention.  They fit perfectly and they are so comfortable. - So if you see me scouring the racks at DI or dressing a little differently  you'll know why...

Had to Share

I just got these pics from my sister - from when they were  here and thought they were too cute not to share.
This girl was made to wear hats!

She actually said "ta da" when referring to her bread art.

 Chocolate - yum!
Gingerbread house...

Giddy up - could he be any more serious?
 Cute one of CC.
I have no idea what Ashton is so worried about but we get this dramatic look a lot.

Brunch with Santa

Our friends the Wrights invited us to their Brunch with Santa this year. It was so wonderful! Santa and Mrs. Clause came to see all of the kids. Each kid had turn on Santa's lap telling him their wish and then they each received a gift pack. After the kids got to make gingerbread houses.

Colten was so excited. On the way there we were a little early so we drove around looking at some of the houses - Colty got impatient with us and yells "I go see Santa RIGHT NOW!" After brunch they announced that Santa was coming and Colten ran to the front door - he smashed right into the window wanting to see. Then when each kid was taking their turn he could wait no longer. He walked right up to Mrs. Clause said "I Colten, I turn."

It was very memorable -Thanks so much Wrights for putting this on for us. I know it was a lot of work and we really appreciate it!
