Minnesota

Reagan and I flew out to see Anna and the kids while Kreg was away on a retreat this week. We had a really good time doing lots of fun things together.  I'm so glad I have a supportive husband and mom who made it possible for us to go.  Thank you and thank you Anna for hosting us!

We went to the Mall of America first thing.  I had planned on getting RJ a new mini doll from the American Girl store (we're collecting them), I just had no idea how excited she would get! I first took her around to all the historical dolls to see if she would give any reaction to them, so we could decide which one to buy. She was cute saying "oh" to them. Until we got to Felicity, she got so excited and started jabbering and pointing and shaking her hands.  It was sooo cute, needless to say that's the mini doll we bought.  After, we went over to the bitty baby section.  These are the pics above.  She gave the same reaction to these little baby dolls.  She carried them all over, tried to feed them and kept talking to them.  I guess I didn't realize that at even this young age she was ready for girl toys.  She LOVED playing with Cecily all week.  She played with her pots and pans as well as her dolls and is mimicking her mannerisms.  I guess I need to go find her some girl toys to play with!
While we were in MN the humidity and weather was so hot - so the day we went to the chain of lakes to walk and swim we had to give up and go home.  We were bummed, but there was no way the little ones could be out in that - so we went shopping instead!

One of the things Anna loves about MN is the shopping.  Target has their headquarters there and so there is a particular Salvation Army that gets some of the corporate samples and extra inventory...which means brand new clothes for really cheap!  Only three of these items pictured above were previously owned - and they don't look like they've been worn once!  One item is from Janie and Jack, a $60 sweater dress that I got for $5!
Anna (with the help of mom) surprised me with Wicked tickets for my birthday.  It was awesome!  We had such a good time, and the performance was really fun.  Thanks again guys, I love things like this!

I haven't checked your family blog in months. I am so excited for your Shasta find. I would think of you guys every time I saw a trailer. I can't wait to see your progress. Your ballerina party was so cute. How lucky of you to visit your sister alone with Reagan. I'm dying to take Lydia to an American Girl Store. I'm trying to wait for Kate to be older. If Reagan liked it maybe we'll go sooner.

What a fun trip! If I had a sister I think I would do this all of the time! And Reagan looks SO cute in those pictures at the American Girl Store--I see a lot of Ashton in her.
