We went to a mystery dinner tonight dressed to the nines. I did my hair in victory rolls, red lipstick and lots of mascara. I found a '40s looking dress at downeast on clearance for $20 including tax! I made my earings out of vintage looking buttons. I also made my hair piece. I bought the bracelets at Charlotte Ruse for $6. Carly found her '50s dress at DI today - I was a little jealous, I never find things like that.
It was my first mystery dinner and it was a blast. Now I want to throw one myself more than ever! Thanks for inviting me mom.

Dearest Sarah:
SO GORGEOUS, your face, the hairdo!
Put you in a lineup of the world's glamor queens and you'd stand out as the "Fairest of them all."
I cannot wait to see more photos: dress, shoes, jewelry . . .

Tracy Carol & I are loving that you're sharing this Mystery Dinner with us.
Is the fabric of dress silver metallic? I want to touch it, see it shimmer in the light.
This occasion calls for at least 3 photos, showing you alone, shoes- to-top of coiffure: back, front, side views.
I'm thinking of how much these photos will mean to your kids when they're older--even your grandkids.
I know Ashton, Colten and Reagan Janin are so proud of their Mom and Dad already, but please keep up an extensive album of you and Aaron as young parents in your 20s, 30s,40s,50s, etc.No other literature or schooling can model the values you want to teach as well as will the personal documents you compile for them--especially those candid, action, special occasion photos that solidly testify the time and love that was part of your daily gift of life to each child.
I know how much I TREASURE photos of my parents and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins at all their ages. We didn't have equipment, time and know how then. It's remarkable I have as many photos as I do, all pretty much black & white stills, a few hand tinted photos touched up by hand with oil paints--stiff, unimaginative photo records compared to these days.
It's all about legacy and personal connection to your kids--in my opinion, necessary and rewarding as are your present day and night hands-on care, food, health maintenance obligations.
I see and feel the reality of their love and laughter coming back to me in each and every family and friend photo. These loved ones are still touching me.

OMGorgeous!! U r a "Real Looker" as they said in the 40's!! Almost as stunning as Mom B. in her wedding pic with Dad! ;) Circa 1950: Black lace bodice over Champagne satin dress, red lipstick and the perfect hairstyle. Check it out!
You are gorgeous Sarah. Wow, you're selling your house. Are you by chance moving closer to SL?
LOVE THESE! THey are too darling!

Sarah:
Yes! Yes! I am awed by the full length photo of yo in that gown that looks as if it was designed just for you.
I had presumed your Mystery Dinner gown was street length.
The effect of the that soft, deceptively simple couture is perfectly balanced when extended to floor length.
Sarah, I can only gasp and declare: "LOVELY."

Mystery dinners are so much fun. I haven't done one forever. You all look so good. And wow you look super skinny, what is your secret? Very impressed by your hairdo, I wouldn't have any idea how to make my hair look like that!
