Archery Abuse

On Saturday Aaron and Ashton took me to my first 3D shoot.  We walk into this little horse arena in Logan and they have it all set up with fake animals, pine trees and even a log cabin that has real smoke coming out of the chimney.

 Ashton did well shooting for the first time completely by himself.  He really wants a compound bow and release.  It's fun to have something to do as a family.

Right off the bat I out shoot Aaron (this is his first shoot with his new fancy bow)!  He quickly began to kill me after that.  I shot one arrow that missed and went into the wood at the back and fractured the arrow.

Shot 26 was a 45 yard shot of an Elk - it was one of the harder shots of the day and I scored 10 (11 possible) and Aaron completely missed!  I felt pretty confident after that one.  Then on 28 I go to shoot and BANG - I hear a terrible noise and my arm is screaming in pain.  Turns out that I pulled out the fractured arrow and fired it.  The pressure from the bow snapped the arrow in half causing my bow to dry fire and the string to go smashing into my arm.

  Fortunately the bow was fine, but my arm looks worse and worse by the hours.  I went ahead and finished the course, I'm glad I did because if I would have quit after that I don't know that I would have picked the bow back up ever again.

I chopped off my hair - 6 inches or more and bleached it - Now I need a tan - pasty!

Sushi Night

We have a group of friends that we enjoy going out to sushi with, so we decided to try to make it at home.  It was so much fun.  After a couple hours of prep (no joke) we sat down to enjoy our creations.  Yummy!  We loved it.
