First Day of School

Ashton loved his first day of preschool. He learned about sunflowers, the color yellow and counting. He played on the computer and had treats too. I think it's going to be a really fun year for him. Colten wasn't happy that Ashton got to go without him, he cried for quite a while in the car after we dropped him off. It was cute.

He's really excited for his birthday this weekend and has invited everyone he talks with to come (including grocery store clerks). He can't wait to be four.

Maklee has given me a full report about her and Ashton and Carter playing dinosaurs and she said that Her and Ashton played with the two Woody dolls from Toy story. She is so happy to have him in her class.

I love the Time Marches On thing.

My little brother, Gail Thurman Hansen, age 3, watched me get on the bus first day of first grade. He tried to follow me onto bus, was promptly put back outside bus. Gail turned into a screaming, raging, wriggling dervish. In 1936,kids got little or no sympathy for such reactionary behavior. Bus driver pulled away, leaving Gail rolling around in the barrow pit. Mom (Audrey Claar Hansen) must have run down the lane and dragged Gail home--eventually.
When I got home from school, I immediately assumed the superior role of Gail's mentor and school teacher. He loved it.
